Making the appointment:
Consular and legalization services - for all consular (passport, birth/marriage registration, etc.) and legalization services it is necessary to request an appointment via consulate_hanoi@mzv.cz.
Short-term (Schengen) visa applications - the receipt of Schengen visa applications is being outsourced to the VFS Global visa center in Hanoi. The appointments can be made via the visa center website. The Embassy accepts directly Schengen visa applications from family members of EU citizens, holders of diplomatic/official passports and members of official delegations. Appointments for a submission at the embassy need to be made via consulate_hanoi@mzv.cz.
In the southern provinces of Vietnam, Schengen visa applicants may submit their applications at the Consulate General of Hungary which represents the Czech Republic in the issuance of Schengen visas, based on a bilateral agreement. Contact email: consulate.hcm@mfa.gov.hu. Applicants from the southern provinces may therefore submit their application either at the Consulate General of Hungary or at the VFS Global visa center in Hanoi/Embassy of the Czech Republic in Hanoi. - Representation by Consulate General of Hungary currently suspended due to COVID-19 measures in visa services.
Long-term/permanent residence applications – registration is done by appointment booking lottery. Details are available in the Czech and Vietnamese versions of this website. For details in English kindly send an email to consulate_hanoi@mzv.cz.
Long-term visa applications - registration occurs once per month via email address visa_hanoi@mzv.cz, administered by the Visa Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic. WORKING LANGUAGES
In accordance with § 169 of the Act no. 326/1999 Sb., about the stay of foreigners in the territory of the Czech Republic, the working languages of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Hanoi are Czech and English.
In 2021, the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Hanoi will be closed to the public on the following Czech or Vietnamese holidays: January 1, February 10-16, April 2, April 5, April 21, April 30, May 3, July 5-6, September 2-5, September 28, October 28, November 17, December 24, January 1, 2022.
