Bilateral consultation of Mr Markku Keinänen, Under Secretary of State for External Economic Relations of Finnish MFA, at MFA of the Czech Republic in Prague. Mr Keinänen and Mr Martin Tlapa, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs responsible for Non-European Countries, Economic and Development Cooperation Section, exchanged their experience in the field of economic diplomacy.

Mr Petr Očko, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, and employees of The Office of the Government of the Czech Republic participated in the ministerial conference on artificial intelligence and digitalization AI Forum 2018. During his visit, Mr Očko also bilaterally met Mr Jari Gustafsson, Permanent Secretary of Finnish Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment.

June 4 – 9, 2018

A delegation of Environmental Committee of the House of Deputies of Czech Parliament led by committee’s chairwoman Ms D. Balcarová, visited Finland. During their visit, deputies negotiated at Finnish Environment Institute, MFA and Prime Minister's Office and were received by Mr K. Tiilikainen, Minister of Environment. Czech deputies have also met Finnish members of Parliament, businessmen and researchers for a discussion “Sustainable Society – can it be reached?” The second part of their programme took part in Rovaniemi (in Pilke Science Centre and Arktikum Science Centre).

Working visit of Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, Mr Andrej Babiš, and his wife in Finland. Official delegation members were: Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Finland, Mr I. Jukl, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr J. Dürr, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, Mr V. Bärtl, State Secretary for European Affairs, Office of the Government, Mr A. Chmelař, Director of Prime Minister Cabinet, Ms T. Batha, Spokeswoman of the Government of the Czech Republic, Ms B. Peterová, and Director of Protocol and Foreign Affair Department, Office of the Government, Ms B. Loudová. Prime Minister Babiš negotiated with his Finnish counterpart Prime Minister J. Sipilä and had a discussion with Minister of Foreign Affairs T. Soini. Czech Prime Minister also participated in Czech-Finnish business forum, in a round table discussion on Finnish educational system in Aalto University and participated to the signing of Memorandum of Understanding, as the Czech Republic became a member state of Hybrid CoE. He also met Czech compatriots and representatives of Czech-Finnish entrepreneurship community and visited a primary school.

Visit of State Secretary for European Affairs, Office of the Government, Mr Aleš Chmelař in Helsinki. Mr Chmelař had several bilateral negotiations – with a member of Parliament and Grand Committee chairman A. Satonen, and at Ministry of Interior with Director General of International Affairs Unit L. Yli-Vakkuri and Director of Migration Unit T. Kurri. Mr Chmelař had also three negotiation at the Prime Minister’s Office – with Special Adviser (EU Affairs) R. Pakarinen, State Secretary to Sipilä’s Government S. Virtanen and with State Secretary for EU Affairs K. Halonen. He also negotiated with partners from Confederation of Finnish Industries – Director of EU and Trade Policy T. Lahti and Director of Trade Policy P. Vuori.

April 11 – 12, 2018

Czech-Finnish expert consultation on cyber security. Mr Richard Kadlčák, Director of Cyber Security Department of Czech MFA, head of the delegation from the Czech Republic, and representatives of National Cyber and Information Security Agency negotiated with representatives of relevant Finnish institutions – MFA, Ministry of Interior, Security Committee of Ministry of Defence, Finnish Transport and Communications Agency, Hybrid CoE and F-Secure company.

Ms Kateřina Fialková, Director of Multilateral Economic Relations Department of Czech MFA negotiated with Ms Riittaa Oksanen, Deputy Director General of Department of Development Policy of Finnish MFA, and with Mr Ilkka Saarinen, Deputy Director General of Department External Economic Relations of Finnish MFA. The consultation was organized within the Czech-Finnish seminar on the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals (Agenda 2030).
