Jan Maruška the First Secretary of the Embassy paid a day visit to Tampere

He has met the representatives of the City of Tampere, honorary consul Antti Jokinen, also Marcus Sjölund, adviser to the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and the Czech student of architecture, Tomáš Beránek.

Tampere is regarded as one of the fastest growing regions in Finland. Mr Jyrki Laiho, Director of Urban and Economic Department of the Mayor´s Cabinet, said there are four major projects in focus: a multifuncional arena designed by the renowned architect Daniel Libeskind, a tunnel from the north to the south , introducing the tram transport and enlarging the suburban train net.
J. Maruška also met Satu Vuorinen who is responsible for the culture and international relations with the city of Olomouc, that has developed smoothly and the twin- cities have exchanged students, artists and experts.
In the end, J. Maruška had a talk with Tomáš Beránek, who has won the competition in designing a sidewalk café in the center of Tampere.
