Exhibition by Pavel Mrkus in Pori

An exhibition of Czech visual artist Pavel Mrkus was opened in Pori Art Museum on September 21, 2012. The exhibition named Next Planet presents a series of video projections which touch phenomena “on the borders of real – physical and illusive – data spaces”. The exhibition was organized with support of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Helsinki and it is open in Pori till January 13, 2013.

Pavel Mrkus opened the exhibition by a video projection accompanied with live music. For the projection in Pori the author also created an original installation with interactive elements. Curator of the exhibition is Michal Koleček – the Dean of the Faculty of Art and Design at Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem.

Pavel Mrkus has graduated from the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague. Several years he was a university teacher in Toyama in Japan. In his art works Mrkus combines the use of sophisticated digital technologies trying to intermediate spiritual traditions of Western Europe and Eastern spiritualism.
