Czech Fairy-tale Saturdays are organized by Mrs Romana Mázerová in Rikhardinkatu city library. On Saturday March 15 doc. Helena Lehečková also presented her new book “Meluzína Severýna”.
Doc. Lehečková spoke about Czech fairy-tale figures, she compered them to Finnish ones and read excerpts from her new book Meluzína Severýna – Fairy-tales about devils, ghosts and princesses. Thirteen stories tell about human shortcomings such as greed. laziness, stubbornness, envy, pride or stupidity which lead to a clash with fairy-tale creatures. The heroes are Czech supernatural spirits of forests, rivers and rocks (melusine, waterman, devil, elf, witch, dwarf, fairy). And of course there is also Melusine Severyna which controls the nature and rectifies the most severe injustice in a crazy way.
