Václav Havel biography in Finnish launched at the Embassy

Publishing house WSOY (Werner Söderström Corporation) has published a biography of Václav Havel  Václav Havelin elämä written by Michael Žantovský. Embassy of the Czech Republic in Helsinki in cooperation with WSOY and with support of expatriates presented the Finnish edition on 30 October 2014.
 

The launch of the book at the Embassy was attended by the author Michael Žantovský (Ambassador of the Czech Republic in Great Britain), representatives of Finnish political and cultural life, representatives of diplomatic missions and expatriates.   

Ambassador of the Czech Republic in Finland Martin Tomčo welcomed the guests and introduced the author of the book. The representative of the publishing house WSOY Mr. Henrikki Timgren emphasized in his speech the world´s premiere of the Finnish translation. Ambassador Michael Žantovský introduced Václav Havel not only as an exceptional person of international significance but also as a man who was not ideal. He had his positives and negatives. But he was among the few people who stayed the same in all his roles during the life – the role of a politician, playwright, husband or a friend. During the whole evening we could see pictures of Václav Havel in different periods of his life.
