24th Annual Session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, the 40th Anniversary of the Helsinki Final Act.

During July 5 – 9, 2015 24th Annual Session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly was held in Helsinki. During July 9 – 10, 2015 it was followed by High Level Meeting to mark the 40th anniversary of the Helsinki Final Act.
 

The Annual Session of the OSCE was attended by the members of the Permanent Delegation to the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly of the Parliament of the Czech Republic: Chamber of Deputies was represented by Ms Ivana Dobešová (Head of the Permanent Delegation), Ms Zuzka Bebarová Rujbrová, Mr Marek Ženíšek and Mr Ladislav Šincl. The Senate of the Czech Republic was represented by Mr Petr Bratský and Mr Petr Gawlas. On Wednesday 15 July Ms Ivana Dobešová was elected in the second voting the Vice-Chair of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly's General Committee on Democracy, Human Rights and Humanitarian Questions.   

The commemorative ceremony on the 40th anniversary of the Helsinki Final Act followed by a meeting on the high level was held symbolically in Finlandia Hall where the Helsinki Final Act of the Conference on Security and Cooperation in Europe (CSCE) was signed 1 August 1975. The commemorative ceremony, following discussion and informal lunch was attended by Mr Ivan Jestřáb - Political Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic.

Informal meeting on the high level reminded of the main principles included in the Helsinki Final Act representing permanent heritage of the Conference on Security and Cooperation in Europe. The concept of wider meaning of security anchored in the Helsinki Final Act helped to change the attitude towards security through commitments to politico-military and economic issues as well as to the human rights.
