Concert of Prague´s choir PUERI GAUDENTES

On the occasion of the upcoming Czech Presidency in the Visegrad Group the Embassy of the Czech Republic invited guests and public to a concert of Prague´s boys  and men choir PUERI GAUDENTES on Sunday, June 30th at 4 pm in the Vanha Kirkko in Helsinki.

The boys choir "Pueri gaudentes" (est. 1990) from Prague unites about 200 singers, both children and ”nearly grown-ups”, in four departments. It is one of four boys choirs existing in the Czech Republic.

The name "Pueri gaudentes" in translation means Joyous Boys. The members of the choir sing with joy and they want to bring joy in their singing to their listeners. They brought joy also to the audience in Helsinki.  They sang classical, folk and popular songs in Latin, Czech, English, Finnish and Estonian. The audience appreciated the boys´enthusiasm with a long applause.

The concert which launched  the Czech Republic's presidency of the Visegrad Group was part of the choir Nordic tour.
