Informal Meeting of Ministers for Foreign Affairs

EU Foreign Ministers met in Helsinki to discuss the current situation not only in
the Middle East, but also in the Arctic. Strategies to counter hybrid threats were also not neglected.
 

Due to the aggravated situation in the Persian Gulf, during the so-called Gymnich on 29 and 30 August, a discussion was held on how to neutralize the superpower ambitions of the distorted regional hegemons.

The Arctic region has not been omitted either. As a result of climate warming, the Arctic's strategic importance will increase in the coming years.

There was also an exchange of views on the continuation of regional cooperation with
the counterparts  from the Western Balkans.

The hybrid threats as one of the priorities of FI PRES dominated the joint lunch with defense ministers.
