Czech Virtuoso Cellist in Pakistan

To celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Czech modern statehood, the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Islamabad invited the Czech virtuoso cellist, Mr. František Brikcius, to perform in Pakistan.

The renowned Czech cellist Mr. František Brikcius made a concert tour in Pakistan in the end of October 2018. His concert tour was a part of the celebrations of Czech National Day and the 100th anniversary of the Czech modern statehood.

Mr. Brikcius had his first concert in Pakistan in Lahore on October 26, 2018. The concert was organized in cooperation with the Honorary Consul of the Czech Republic in Lahore.

The concert tour continued with a well-attended event in Karachi. The concert organized by the Honorary Consul of the Czech Republic in Karachi was held in the renowned National Academy of Performing Arts (NAPA).

On October 29, 2018, the viruoso cellist gave a concert on the occassion of the reception organized by the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Islamabad.

The last concert of the tour was held in Peshawar on October 30, 2018. This concert was not only a part of the Czech National Day celebrations but also of the ceremonial opening of the new honorary consulate of the Czech Republic in Peshawar.

The classical music played by Mr. Brikcius included pieces of Czech composers of the world repute, such as Bedřich Smetana, Eugen Suchoň, Zdeněk Fibich or Irena Kosíková, as well as pieces by Johan Sebastian Bach and other composers. In each of the cities, the concerts were received very positively. The local media have informed about them as well.
