Lidice 2019: Pakistani Student Honoured

Mahnur Motahhir, thirteen years old student of Lahore Grammar School obtained an honourable mention by an arts exhibition in the Czech Republic. The award was handed over to her by an embassy representative at the Czech Honorary Consulate in Lahore on 20 January 2020 with her family and teachers present.
The Pakistani student was one of 1333 participants at the 47th edition of the International Children's Exhibition of Fine Arts Lidice. The exhibition was established in 1967 to commemorate the child victims from the Czech village of Lidice murdered by the Nazis during WWII, as well as all other children who have died in wars.
The Lidice exhibition is open to young international participants in 2020 again. Pieces of art focused on landscape, which is the topic of the 48th edition, are accepted if dispatched by 14 February 2020 at the latest.
