Prague Spring Music Festival 2020: Enjoy Concerts Online

Prague Spring International Music Festival 2020 was supposed to be very special in its 75th year. The event that has been bringing outstanding performing artists and ensembles from around the world to the Czech capital since 1946 turned out different indeed, although in an unintended way. Quarantine measures and social distancing moved it from concert halls to cyberspace, making it accessible to everyone.

To start with, young Czech musician Petr Wajsar composed a variation on Happy Birthday and engaged ten soloists and/or ensembles who would otherwise participate at this year's festival to record a video each. Combined together, their collective performance makes a remarkable opening of Prague Spring 2020.

Online concerts will follow, starting 13 May at 8 pm Prague time (11 pm in Pakistan) with oboist Martin Daněk. Known to Pakistani audience, he was applauded in Islamabad and Lahore six months ago.

More information and schedule of performances can be found at the Prague Spring webpage.
