12 Worlds - Czech children's book illustrators

The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Islamabad and the Honorary Consulate of the Czech Republic in Lahore have displayed an exhibition of Czech children's book illustrators titled “12 Worlds” at the Alhamra Art Gallery and the gallery of the National College of Arts in Lahore, Pakistan.

The opening ceremony of the exhibition took place in the renowned Alhamra Art Gallery on December 13, 2017. It was inaugurated by Ms. Jaroslava Jebavá, Deputy Head of Mission of the Czech Republic, in her capacity as chargé d'affaires a.i. along with Mr. Kamal Monnoo, Honorary Consul of the Czech Republic in Lahore. The event has attracted a large number of visitors, predominantly children from various educational institutions (leading local schools, colleges and universities) from all over the city.

The exhibition presents the work of 12 illustrators of contemporary Czech children's books. The illustrations of these versatile artists are finding their place in different media – not only books, but also comics, film, performance, photography. The illustrations are very creative not only in the way of what they are presenting but also for their apt combination of artistic techniques and genres. Each author represents an original style with its own artistic value.

After being displayed in the Alhamra Art Gallery, the exhibition was to be seen in the gallery of the National College of Arts in Lahore, Pakistan during the week-end of December 16 and 17, 2017.
