To support women and minorities in Pakistan, the Czech Republic has decided to launch a project in cooperation with Khwendo Kor titled „Protection of Women and Minorities Rights“. The project which is supposed to be implemented in District Bannu in Khyber Pahktunkhwa Province in 2019 aims at raising awareness of women and wider society of their rights, especially the right to inheritance and the right to consent in marriage for girls and women, as well as of the rights of minorities

A contract concerning implementation of a local small scale project within the framework of the Transition Promotion Program of the Czech Republic has been signed by Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Islamabad, Mrs. Jaroslava Bobková, and the Chief Executive of Khwendo Kor, Mrs. Maryam Bibi, on 29th March 2019.

Promotion of human rights stands at the very core of the foreign policy of the Czech Republic. Protection of women and minorities rights are an integral part of these efforts. The respect for human rights and dignity is not just a value in itself but it also helps to foster international security and sustainable development. In Pakistan, the Embassy of the Czech Republic promotes human and especially women rights continually through annual projects under the Transition Promotion Program, but also through dialogue and different public diplomacy events.
