Long-Term Visa

The Long-Term Visa is issued as a multiple entry visa for a maximum of 1 year, when the stay on the territory of the Czech Republic is expected to exceed 3 months.

The application for Long-Term Visa could be lodged for the following purposes:  health, culture, sport, study, scientific research, family, entrepreneurship and other.

Long-Term Visa is not intended for family members of EU citizens (plus Island, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland) who are holders of residence cards of family members of citizens of the EU/EEA.

The application for Long-Term Visa must be submitted in person.

Children younger than 12 do not submit fingerprints and do not need to visit the embassy. Children between 12 and 15 must come accompanied by their parents / legal guardians who lodge visa applications on their behalf.

Documents must be submitted in original or a certified copy and cannot be older than 180 days from the day of issue (with the exception of the passport, academic degree, marriage certificate, birth certificate etc.).

Documents in the English/Urdu language must be officially translated into the Czech language.

CONSULAR TERRITORIAL COMPETENCE:

The applicant is entitled to submit an application for long-term visa only to the embassy of the State of which applicant:

  1. is a citizen
  2. is the holder of the travel document
  3. is holder of legal long-term or permanent residence and has been residing continuously at least for 2 years in the State´s territory.

REQUIRMENTS AND SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS

  1. Application form with the applicant's signature
  2. A valid passport (minimum 2 blank pages, valid at least 3 months after returning to Pakistan/Afghanistan)
  3. 2 colour photographs (3.5 x 4.5 cm format, white background)
  4. Fee
  5. A consent of parents or legal guardian if applicant is a minor
  6. A proof of the purpose (varying according to the purpose - e.g.a letter of admission to the study program according to §64 of Act No. 326/1999, marriage certificate, birth certificate)
    1. A proof of the stay of family purpose (marriage certificate, birth certificate) must be already legalised for international use, i.e. already have national legalisation certificate appended by the Czech Embassy or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic
  7. A proof of accommodation for the entire stay in the territory of the Czech Republic (confirmation of a natural or legal person with an officially verified signature, original or certified copy of the accommodation contract or rental contract)
  8. A proof of funds (bank statement for the last 6-months period, international debit card)
  9. Extract of the records of the Pakistani Criminal Register provided with an official translation into the Czech language
    1. In accordance with § 31 of Act No. 326/1999, Czech Embassy in Islamabad requires applicants to present an Extract of the records of the country in which they have stayed overall for more than 6 months in the last 3 years. In case the country does not issue such document, it must be replaced by an Affidavit in English and Czech language.
    2. Afghan nationals are exempt from the obligation to submit Extract of the records of the Afghan Criminal Register; it must be replaced by an Affidavit in English and Czech language
  10. Upon request of the Embassy, a document proving the fulfilment of conditions set out in the measure of Ministry of Health on prevention of the spread of infectious illnesses
  11. Travel medical insurance upon the positive decision of the application

Decisions on long-term visas and residency permits are taken by the Ministry of the Interior within the legal period based on the visa type and purpose of stay.
