Visa Applicants Obligated to Attest Compliance with Measures against Infectious Disease

Applicants for Schengen visa and long-term visa/ residence permits for the purpose of economic or educational activity are obligated to submit a document attesting to the compliance with measures against the introduction of an infectious disease. The document is issued by the receiving entity in the Czech Republic, i.e. an employer or a school.

In case of  Schengen visa, the document must be submitted with the visa application; presentation of the document is a prerequisite for further processing.

In case of  long-term visa or residence permit application, the document must be submitted before issuing the visa, i.e. when the visa has been approved, before attaching the visa sticker.

The document is issued by the receiving entity in the Czech Republic, i.e. the employer or the school (university). By issuing the document, the issuing party undertakes  to provide

● accommodation for the entire duration of stay, including a place where the foreign national can stay if a public health authority orders a quarantine,
● health care by a registered health care provider for the entire duration of stay, including covering related expenditures, if not arranged otherwise,
● return to the country of origin in case the purpose of stay in the Czech Republic no longer applies.
