Visa Section announcement

Visa Section of the Consulate General will start the visa agenda on June 1st, 2020. 

Visa agenda is resumed at diplomatic missions of the Czech Republic, in accordance with Article I Paragraphs 10 and 11 of the Protective Measure of the Ministry of Health from May 15, 2020 (no. MZDR 20599/2020-1/MIN/KAN), in the extent as follows: 

Schengen Visas:

Acceptance of applications from:          

family members of EU / Czech Republic citizens

● in the interest of the Czech Republic

international transport workers

critical infrastructure workers 

● diplomats and officials of international organizations

seasonal workers (based on Decree of the Ministry of Labor and Social Services No. 322/2017 Coll.)

● health and social services employees and their family members

● food processing employees

● in exceptional emergency situations according to Article I Paragraphs 10 and 11 of the Protective Measure of the Ministry of Health from May 15, 2020 (no. MZDR 20599/2020-1/MIN/KAN

 

Long-term Visas and Residence Permits:

a/ Acceptance of applications for         

LONG-TERM VISA FOR THE PURPOSE OF SEASONAL EMPLOYMENT (based on Decree of the Ministry of Labor and Social Services No. 322/2017 Coll.)

● PROGRAM HIGHLY QUALIFIED EMPLOYEE

● visas / residence permits within the KEY AND SCIENTIFIC PERSONNEL PROGRAM

● LONG- TERM RESIDENCE PERMITS FOR THE PURPOSE OF SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH and applications for long-term residence permits of their spouses and minor children

● LONG-TERM AND PERMANENT RESIDENCE PERMITS FOR THE PURPOSE OF FAMILY UNIFICATION, but only in those cases, when the family unification involves spouses and minor children of foreign nationals who already reside in the Czech Republic on a basis of a long-term or permanent residence permit; other family members cannot file these applications at the moment

● STUDENT FACILITATION (REŽIM STUDENT) PROGRAM

visas for the purpose of collecting residence permits (the so-called D/VR type visa) – the so-called VISA STICKER TRANSFER – for any purpose of stay

 

Important Notice – entry to the Czech Republic

1/ Holders of long-term visas and residence permits:

Foreigners - seasonal employees, workers in food production, key and scientific workers, highly qualified and qualified employees, workers in health and social services, family members of third-country nationals with long-term or permanent residence in the Czech Republic, EU citizens for the purpose of economic activities or studies in the Czech Republic, researchers and holders of long-term visas for the purpose of taking over a residence permit will be allowed to enter the Czech Republic pursuant to Article I. point 1 of the Protective Measure of the Ministry of Health of 26 May 2020 upon presentation of a COVID test -19. We strongly recommend foreigners who do not fall into the above categories to consult the need to prove their proof of passing the COVID-19 test when entering the Czech Republic on the website of the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic (https://www.mvcr.cz/clanek/coronavirus-informace-mv.aspx - point 2: Entry into the territory of the Czech Republic).
The COVID-19 test means a medical certificate of completion of the RT-PCR test for the presence of SARS CoV-2 with a negative result, and this certificate must not be older than 4 days at the time of entry into the territory of the Czech Republic. Foreigners who are not EU citizens are obliged to submit, together with the medical certificate of completion of the test, a certificate issued by the relevant laboratory stating that the test has been performed. The certificate must contain information from which the performance of the test, the type of test, the age of the test and the details of the laboratory which carried out the test can be verified.
The test is provided by a foreigner at his own expense and must be disposed of when entering the territory of the Czech Republic. Otherwise, the above foreigners will be denied entry.

1/ Holders of Schengen visas:

We request holders of Schengen visas to kindly consult information of the Ministry of the Interior here (see 2. Entry into the territory of the Czech Republic, point "Conditions for foreign nationals newly coming into the territory of the Czech Republic, thus for those who previously did not reside in the Czech territory") on the obligation to submit the test.
