The Czech Ambassador to Indonesia met with the Governor of the West Java Province

During H.E. initial courtesy visits to Indonesia, Ambassador Jaroslav Doleček met with the Governor of the West Java Province, Mohamed Ridwan Kamil, on March 1, 2021. They successfully discussed Czech-Indonesian projects within the province, informed each other about ongoing and planned activities, and outlined another possible direction for the development of bilateral cooperation.

Czech companies are following up the historical traditions in the field of engineering and defense industry and communicating intensively with companies in the city of Bandung, which is the center of industrial production not only in the West Java region, but also from the perspective of the entire archipelago. In the defense industry, for example, there is a successful cooperation between PT. Pindad and Excalibur Army, s.r.o. in the form of local production associated with the transfer of know-how and technology. Promising synergies are also emerging between Czech and Indonesian partners focused on the aviation industry. Governor Mochamad Ridwan Kamil during the interview with the Ambassador of the Czech Republic stated the importance of investment diversification for the development of future strategic economic relations between the Czech Republic and Indonesia.

Another important area of cooperation, which they have discussed during the courtesy visit, is the area of agriculture and the food industry. The Governor invites Czech investors and businesses to West Java to build manufacturing plants and farms for growing agricultural products and food processing. "I have been to Prague several times and I really like coffee, maybe we can cooperate more in the agricultural sector," the Governor said during the meeting.

Finally, the Governor invited the Ambassador for another visit, the program of which should be a tour of already implemented projects and further negotiations, especially on the possibility of involving Czech companies in implementing comprehensive solutions in building medical facilities and hospitals in the West Java region and debate on possible cooperation in other areas of mutual interest.
