Award giving ceremony of the 45th International Children’s competition of Fine Arts Lidice

Ambassador of the Czech Republic in Indonesia Mr. Ivan Hotěk gave awards to five Indonesian children for their exceptional paintings in “The 2017 Lidice children fine art competition”. The theme of the 45th annual competition was set as “Travelling” and saw over 25,690 entries from 83 countries.

The talented Indonesian children received the awards at The Residence of the Ambassador on 15th January 2018. The festive ceremony was witnessed by their parents and their school representatives. The children came to Jakarta a long distance. Their exceptional artistic talent is developed and cared for at Ananda Visual Art School in Bandung, West Java, and SD Muhammadiyah and SMP Muhammadiyah in the region of Gresik, East Java. Their awarded paintings were displayed at the official exhibition in Lidice, Czech Republic for six months from June to November 2017.

During the festive ceremony, Mr Ambassador recalled the value and historical connotations of the competition Lidice. He expressed his appreciation for the participation of the Indonesian children in the event and hope that they would carry on with their artistic efforts.
