Fifteen Young Indonesian, Singaporean and Bruneian Artists Awarded for Lidice Diploma and Medals

43rd Lidice 2015 Exhibition, themed Light, has announced the awardees among 21,380 entries from more than 71 different countries. Five young Indonesian artists from Jakarta and Java province successfully won Honorable Mention for their exceptional arts. A Bruneian student is given the Honorable Mention. Outstandingly, 8 Singaporean students will receive the same Honorable Mention, along with 2 students to bring medals home and one more medal for their schools.

The Indonesian awardees of Lidice 2015 are:

- Sebastian Owen (5 years), Ananda Visual Art School, Bandung, West Java, Honorable Mention
- Amalia Fairuz Augustin (8 years), SD Muhammadiyah GKB 2, Gresik, East java, Honorable Mention
- Kenny W.S Cornelius (14 years), Talenta School, Jakarta, Honorable Mention
- Calvin T Philippu (15 years), Talenta School, Jakarta, Honorable Mention
- Nandika Putra Pratama (10 years), Talenta School, Jakarta, Honorable Mention

The Designated Ambassador Ivan Hotěk will hand over the diplomas for these talented young artists at the Ambassador’s residence (Jl. Imam Bonjol 23, Menteng, Jakarta Pusat) on Monday, 7th December 2015 at 14.00. The Bruneian awardee to receive Lidice Honorable Mention is Christina Liew Wei Wei. One Medal is given to Woodlands, Si Ling Secondary School. Meanwhile, the Singaporean awardees of Lidice 2015 are:

- Xuan Yap Li (15 years), Si Ling Secondary School, Singapore, Medal
- Lukman Nur Hakim Abdul Razak (15 years), Si Ling Secondary School, Singapore, Honorable Mention
- Hong Aw Zhan (14 years), Si Ling Secondary School, Singapore, Honorable Mention
- Zulalina Ibrahim Nur (14 years), Si Ling Secondary School, Singapore, Honorable Mention
- Sheng Lee Poh (14 years), Si Ling Secondary School, Singapore, Honorable Mention
- Sabian Ng (14 years), Si Ling Secondary School, Singapore, Honorable Mention
- Nadzirah Sabari Nadiah (14 years), Si Ling Secondary School, Singapore, Honorable Mention

With supports from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Education and the Czech Commission for UNESCO, the International Children’s Exhibition of Fine Arts Lidice (Czech Republic) is annually organized to commemorate the child victims of the village of Lidice, whose name is taken for the competition, and the children who have died or suffered in wars. Lidice was demolished during the World War II.

We invite children and art schools in to participate in the 44th International Children’s Exhibition of Fine Arts Lidice under the theme “School? Education!” because 2016 marks the 70th anniversary of founding of UNESCO. The deadline is on 29th February 2016. More information about Lidice can be found on www.mdvv-lidice.cz.
