The visit of Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic to Republic of Indonesia

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Mr. Lubomír Zaorálek paid the official visit to Republic of Indonesia from 25th till 27th February 2016. Czech Foreign Minister discussed with his Indonesian partners bilateral political and business relations.

On his official three-day visit to Indonesia, from February 25 to 27, the Czech foreign minister made a courtesy call on President Joko Widodo, as well as met with the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, the Minister for Legal and Security Affairs Luhut B. Panjaitan, Chairman of the House of Regional Representatives Mr. Irman Gusman, Minister of Transportation Mr. Ignasius Jonan, Minister of Maritime affairs and Fisheries Mrs. Susi Pudjiastuti, Minister of Trade Mr.  Thomas B. Lembong and governor of Yogyakarta H.R.H. Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono X.

The two Ministers of Foreign Affairs agreed that there are no current issues between the Czech Republic and Republic of Indonesia and the only thing that we have to do in the future is to strengthen the economic cooperation between our two countries.

The two ministers also mentioned the need to create more room to strengthen the economic relations, with two-way trade figures reaching US$200 million.

Mr. Zaoralek, who was accompanied by a large business delegation, talked with Indonesian representatives about new business opportunities. He participated in three business seminars during his visit in Jakarta and Yogyakarta. He said the economic cooperation between the Czech Republic and Indonesia has a great potential.

“We had a good opportunity to discuss our bilateral issues and relations. We conveyed our willingness to strengthen political dialogue, direct investment and tourism, environment and infrastructure, security and defense and education. We also wish to continue our cooperation to multilateral platforms,” said Mr. Zaorálek.
