Junior diplomats back from Vienna

The students of the Diplomatic Academy (junior diplomats) have just completed a one-week internship in Vienna. The choice of the destination was not accidental as the Austrian capital is the seat of the Embassy of the Czech Republic, the Permanent Mission of the Czech Republic to the UN, OSCE and other international organizations and the Czech Centre Vienna.

Junior diplomats have learned about the role and main agendas of all three institutions. They have also visited the International Atomic Energy Agency and attended the OSCE Permanent Council meeting.

Young diplomats were also invited as discussants to join the conference called Central Europe Revisited. The symposium was organised by the Diplomatic Academy in Vienna and by the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic. Students were discussing in panels with speakers like political scientist Jacques Rupnik, economist Tomáš Sedláček or professor of the University of Oxford Jan Zielonka.
