Czech Diplomats receive training in EU Countries

The 2013-2014 academic year has increased the participation of Czech Diplomats within the framework of “The European Diplomatic Programme” and its wider diplomatic activities.

Czech diplomats are increasingly gaining opportunities to participate in training courses, seminars and education programmes organized by various EU Member States. Similarly, the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic opens its activities to other European colleagues, both at the EU headquarters and at foreign embassies in Prague.

Sharing experiences and lessons learnt has been the main reason for increased internationalism. The lack of financial resources devoted to diplomatic education has also played a significant role. Unfortunately, an ever increasing number of EU Member States have encountered similar problems.

Czech diplomats have traditionally been participating in training courses held by the European External Action Service, which mainly focused on the Policies of the EU and the European Decision-Making Process.

Since the beginning of 2014, an emphasis has been placed on involving Czech diplomats in wider training activities at foreign partner institutions, including the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna, the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Among others, courses on political analysis, reporting and media training have always been highly valued.
