Jordanian diplomats take an interest in Diplomatic Academy activities

The Diplomatic Academy presented its activities to Jordanian diplomats during their study tour to the Czech Republic.

On 21 October 2014, the Deputy Director of the MFA’s Diplomatic Academy Pavla Havrlíková discussed with Jordanian diplomats the system of diplomatic education of the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She presented the role of the Diplomatic Academy, its current programmes and the selection method for new diplomats.

Jordanian colleagues, who stayed in the Czech Republic from 19 to 22 October, were primarily interested in the survival camp organized by the Czech Military Academy in Vyškov, cooperation of the Diplomatic Academy with universities and the private sector or in a training of Czech diplomats about economic issues.

The goal of the Jordanian diplomats’ study tour was to familiarize themselves with the priorities of foreign and security policies of a NATO Member State, the practical aspects of NATO membership and explore the general public’s perception of the organization in the Czech Republic. The tour also provided an opportunity to establish contacts between Jordanian diplomats and the Institute of International Relations in Prague. The Prague visit was followed by a tour of NATO headquarters in Brussels.
