In order to prepare Czech nationals for work at EU institutions, the MFA joined the “EU careers ambassadors” project for the first time. The project was initiated by the European Personnel Selection Office and its aim is to inform the students about what it is like to work for European institutions and how the selection procedure works. Following the seminar held on 15 October 2013 at Czernin Palace, ten selected students are expected to organize information campaigns at their respective universities in the current academic year.

The seminar was co-organized by the Diplomatic Academy and the National Focal Point and led by Koen Hendrix and Ulrike Mangold of the EPSO. Issues discussed at the seminar included knowledge and skill requirements for future candidates, organization of the selection procedures, and work opportunities in EU institutions in general.

New “EU ambassadors” plan to promote work opportunities in EU institutions at their universities by presenting them at job fairs, on Facebook and Twitter, and in informal meetings organized by the university or student associations.
