According to  Radio Prague International "the aim of the project is to give  a list of arguably the best and most popular Czech novels and poetry ever written, presenting not only the established classics, but also introducing the leading contemporary authors."  You can read more about the project "The Czech books you must read" on Radio Prague Internationl website.

The first chapter is dedicated to an iconic work "Babička" - "The Grandmother" by Božena Němcová, an exceptional writer who was born on February 4, 1820.
