On May 30th, 2022, the Czech Republic donated a first shipment of Pfizer vaccines to Zambia.
Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Zambia Pavel Procházka handed over to a donation of 250 thousands doses of the Pfizer vaccine against Covid-19. Another shipment of similar size is expected to be delivred in the mid-June.
State Secretary appreciated the Czech donation which provides an important boost to the on-going Covid-19 vaccination campaign in Zambia in the moment when the number of infections is increasing again. In his interview, he called on all Zambians to get vaccinated and ensure that the cases of Covid-19 are reduced.
Ambassador added that this donation re-emphasizes our willingness to work closely with the Government of Zambia in expanding cooperation in all areas of health care. Honorable Sylvia Masebo, Minister of Health of the Republic of Zambia, attended the Health Forum Czech Republic - Africa held in Prague two weeks ago where she was presented comprehensive Czech solutions which can contribute to further increasing the capacity of health care in Zambia.
In the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Czech Republic has mobilised additional resources to help Zambia to cope with the crisis. Last two years, we have supported Zambia through provision of medical equipment or direct support to those affected by the pandemic.
