Organization for Aid to Refugees (OPU)

Organization for Aid to Refugees (OPU) was established in 1991 in Prague as a non-profit, non-governmental, humanitarian organization.

During its first years of existence, OPU primarily focused on people who had been persecuted in their home countries for being part of a specific social group, for political, ethnical, religious or racial reasons, or on those foreigners who were granted asylum and temporary protection. Today OPU provides assistance to third-country nationals and migrants in distress.

In cooperation with the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs – within the Transition Promotion Program, OPU realizes projects in Georgia that seek to support activities of the local NGOs working with refugees, and to help the refugees to reintegrate into the public life.
