Major outputs:

Project had three major outputs:

a)     Ukrainian version of the book Democratic Transition – Czech Example; The book, which is the most complex analysis of democratic transition in the Czech Republic and is written by collective authors of fourteen prominent Czech political scientists, has already had three language versions – Arabic, Russian and Ukrainian – owing to Ministry of Foreign Affairs Czech Republic support. The book was also published in electronic version on CD (in Russian and other language version) in number of 1 000 copies.

b)     Publishing of Civic Society – Foundation and Growth

CDK initiated publication of an interesting book devoted to civic society. It deals with fundamental terms, civic society rebuilding in the Czech Republic and position, impact and financing of the civic society in selected countries in Western Europe. The book was published in the electronic version on previously mentioned CD.

c)      Lectures

Lectures called “Strengthening of democracy and civic society structures in Eastern Ukraine” were held in three Ukrainians cities (Kharkiv, Sumy, and Donetsk) from

26 November till 6 December 2008. Lectures focused thematically mainly on the issue of democratic transition in the Czech Republic, reform of the public sphere, civic society building and integration into the European Union. The participants who took part in at least 75 % lectures received certificate of life time educational program issued by Masaryk University which is accredited by the Czech Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport.

The amount of financial support by Ministry of Foreign Affairs: 798 700 CZK
