Seminar on Public Administration Reform on Local and Regional Level Prague, Czech Republic, 06–09 December 2016

In accordance with the Work Plan of the Eastern Partnerships’ Panel on Public Administration Reform the seminar for 18 experts from EaP countries took place in Prague, 6–9 December 2016. The three topics of the seminar were delegated and independent competencies of municipalities, regional policy of the Czech Republic and the role of civil society on Public Administration Reform.

In accordance with the Work Plan of the Eastern Partnerships’ Panel on Public Administration Reform and the capacity of the Czech Republic as an Area 3 leader, the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs  organizes twice a year a seminar devoted to the public administration. One seminar is organized in EaP partner country and the second one in Prague. This winter the Czech MFA organized training for 18 experts from the EaP countries in Prague. As usual there was 1 expert nominated from each of the six central governments, 1 expert from local administrations and 1 expert representative per partner country of civil society or academia.

The seminar focused on delegated and independent competencies of municipalities, regional policy of the Czech Republic and the role of civil society on Public Administration Reform. All of the topics were divided into respective panels.  

On the third day of the seminar there was organized visit to the City of Prachatice.

Participants were – on the last day of the seminar – expected to draw conclusions and produce ideas of how to use practically the acquired experience from the seminar. It was done in a form of interactive workshop.

The seminar is organized by the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs in cooperation with the European Commission.
