The 16th meeting of the first Platform of the Eastern Partnership on democracy, good governance and stability took place in Brussels on December 5th. The main topics on the agenda were implementation report 2016, outlook towards the next EaP Summit of 2017, strengthening of local and regional democracy and Strengthening EU's visibility.
 

The 16th meeting of the first Platform of the Eastern Partnership on democracy, good governance and stability took place in Brussels on December 5th. The meeting was steered by the EEAS and European Commission and the participants were EU MS and EaP partner countries. The main topics on the agenda were implementation report 2016, outlook towards the next EaP Summit of 2017, strengthening of local and regional democracy and Strengthening EU's visibility.

It was obvious that panel on public administration reform, newly established panel on rule of law and EU´s visibility and communication strategy will be high on the agenda for the upcoming period. There is clear differentiation among the EU member states as far as support of Eastern Partnership is concerned. Resolute support for policy of the EaP was expressed mainly by Sweden, Poland, the Czech Republic or Estonia. Representative of the Czech MFA used the opportunity to inform about the activity of the Czech Republic in the framework of the panel on public administration reform. Interest to cooperate with the Czech Republic in this field was expressed by Estonia, Germany of Committee of regions.
