Quotas for Economic Migration

On August 26, 2019, the Government approved a decree setting maximum annual numbers of applications for employee cards and entrepreneurship long-term visas that can be accepted at diplomatic missions. Quotas apply only to the diplomatic missions stated therein. Acceptance of applications at other diplomatic missions is not limited.

At the same time, the Government expanded the number of States participating in programs (previously regimes), which allow for an expedited submission of applications for employee cards of qualified workers, by Moldavia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and India.

Quotas are established by the Governmental decision based on agreement of concerned ministries and The Council of Economic and Social Agreement of the Czech Republic. The quotas take effect on September 1, 2019.

Quotas cannot be exceeded, i.e. diplomatic missions cannot accept more applications than allowed by the quotas. The overall number of applications that will be accepted based on the quotas will be evenly spread out into twelve months.

Diplomatic missions will accept on a monthly basis the maximum number of applications based on the total quotas. Guidelines for appointment scheduling will be published at the diplomatic missions´ websites.

The text (in Czech) of the Governmental Decree, including the quotas and diplomatic missions concerned, can be found in the attachment.
