Jiří Schneider will be appointed Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs

 

Jiří Schneider will be appointed Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic on August 1. Jiří Schneider is Program Director of the Prague Security Studies Institute. He worked in Czech diplomacy in the past. He used to be i.a. Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Israel (1995-1998) and Political Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Karel Schwarzenberg accepted demission and removed Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Hynek Kmoníček and Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Milan Sedláček (from July 16). Current Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Hungary Jaromír Plíšek will be appointed new Secretary General Prague from September 1.

Spokesperson Filip Kanda was called out. Till appointment of a new spokesperson the duty will be administered by Director of the Press Department Jiří Beneš. Filip Kanda remains to be a member of Press Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
