Deputy MInister Galuška in Canada

Deputy Minister of the Foreign Affairs Mr. Vladimír Galuška will be visiting Canada from October 31 to November 3, 2010. His working visit will highlight the presentation events to commemorate the 90th anniversary of the launch of the diplomatic relations between Canada and former Czechoslovakia.

In Toronto, Deputy Minister Galuška will meet with the representatives of the Ontario provincial government and later with Czech compatriot and business communities. In Masaryktown, which is the centre of Czech emigration in Toronto, Deputy Minister Galuška will lay wreath to the memorial of the victims of communism.

On Tuesday November 2, 2010, Deputy Minister Galuška will conduct negotiations with partners on the federal level in Ottawa. He will meet with minister of Citizenship and Immigration Jason Kenney a Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Morris Rosenberg. They will discuss future development of bilateral relations between the Czech Republic and Canada, development assistance projects, state of negotiations of the trade agreement between EU and Canada and participation in military missions abroad. As the principal guest, Deputy Minister Galuška will take part at the special event in the Senate on Parliament Hill to commemorate the 90th anniversary of the launch of the bilateral diplomatic relations, organised under the auspices of the Speaker of the Senat Hon. Noël Kinssela. 

During the visit of Montreal, Deputy Minister Galuška will personally present the award of the Ministry of Defence of the Czech Republic "Golden lime tree"  to the veteran and member of "Intelligence brigade" Mr. Karel Rohlíček. A meeting with distinguished representatives of Czech community Mr. Karel Velan and Mr. Rudolf Roden will also take place in Montreal.
