International Conference „The First Year of the Lisbon Treaty – New Rules for the European Chessboard“

On the 26th of November 2010, an international conference entitled „The First Year of the Lisbon Treaty – New Rules for the European Chessboard“ will be held in the Czernin Palace in Prague under the auspices of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, Karel Schwarzenberg.

The conference has been organised by the Prague-based EUROPEUM Institute for European Policy and the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Representation in the Czech Republic with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic and the European Union.

The keynote addresses will be given by the 1st Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, Mr. Jiří Schneider, and the European Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy, Mr.Štefan Füle. Representatives of the Office of Government and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic as well as of European institutions (including Member of Cabinets of the President of the European Council and of the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy) and other leading experts from a number of European countries will take part in the following panel discussions devoted to institutional changes, freedom, security and justice as well as EU foreign policy after the Lisbon Treaty.
