Minister Schwarzenberg visited the Palestinian Territories

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Karel Schwarzenberg visited the Palestinian Territories on January 24. He met Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs. The visit was focused on an inauguration of a service centre in Tubas founded as a development project of the Czech Republic.
Minister Schwarzenberg met Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Palestinian National Authority Riyad al-Maliki in Ramallah. The meeting was focused on Czech development projects in the Palestinian Territories and current policy issues. After the meeting in Ramallah, minister Schwarzenberg met Prime Minister Salam Fayyad in Tubas. Both ministers inaugurated a transformers service centre. Prime Minister Fayyad appreciated the Czech development aid and expressed his thanks for contribution of the Czech Republic to building modern infrastructure in Palestine. The talks were focused on current situation and position of Palestinians in peace process. The meeting was succeeded by an inauguration and visitation of the service centre and speeches by politicians.
