Janina Hřebíčková appointed Head of the OSCE Mission in Montenegro
This appointment is a recognition of the long-term Czech engagement in the Western Balkans and a fruit of concentrated effort of the Czech Republic‘s Foreign Service to promote a professional diplomat to such an important international mission. Minister of Foreign Affairs Jan Kohout welcomed Janina Hřebíčková´s appointment by stating that “After a long time Czech diplomacy has succeeded in promoting a solid candidate to the Senior Management Post in the significant OSCE Mission in the region of the Western Balkans which is represents a priority in the Czech Republic’s Foreign Policy.“
Ambassador Hřebíčková has expressed her deep appreciation due to the appoitment. Intermittently, she has lived and worked in all the republics of the Former Yugoslavia for 14 years. “I look forward to get working with all the institutions of Monenegro, international partners, OSCE and instituions in the Western Balkans‘ region. The people of Montenegro deserve to live and work in an environment governed by democracy and a sound rule of law, sharing European and Euro-Atlantic values. I will do my best to be continuing building that journey with them,“ the Ambassador said.
Strengthening of Democratic Institutions, Human Rights, Security for Nations from the Human Dimension perspecitve, and, the Rule of Law belong among the core OSCE values. The OSCE Mission in Montenegro has been active since 2006. It focuses on supporting the government of Montenegro and its institutions in the implementation of reforms primarily in the area of police, justice, legislation, minorities, media , human rights, environment and economic development. Within the remit of its mandate, the OSCE Mission helps the country on its way to European and Euro-Atlantic integration.
