As of February 2014, Czech Embassy to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg will reopen. The decision has been taken in order to further intensify the traditionally close ties between the Czech Republic and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
The agenda of the Embassy will focus on supporting mutual cooperation, including the economic relations, and offering consular services to the Czech citizens staying in Luxembourg in particular. Limited services of the Embassy will be offered as of February 2014. Till the Ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary in Luxembourg assumes his/her responsibilities, the seat of the Ambassador remains in Brussels and the Embassy in Luxembourg will be headed by chargé d’affaires ad interim.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg Jean Asselborn was informed about the reopening of the Embassy by Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Jan Kohout at the ASEM Foreign Ministers’ meeting in New Delhi on 11 November.
