Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Martin Tlapa received a delegation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia headed by its Vice President Eduard Sharmazanov at the Czernin Palace on September 22, 2014.

Martin Tlapa and Eduard Sharmazanov discussed the development of bilateral relations, with the focus on economic cooperation between the Czech Republic and Armenia. Deputy Minister Tlapa appreciated the strength of Czech-Armenian relations which were confirmed by the visit of the President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan in Prague in January 2014.

Both sides agreed that full potential of bilateral trade has not been fulfilled yet. According to Deputy Minister Tlapa, the growth of mutual trade remains one of the major tasks for diplomatic representations and entrepreneurs from both countries. The Czech side sees a good perspective in the green energy engineering sector with use of products like biogas cogeneration units, turbines in sewage plants and drinking water systems.

The Armenian delegation confirmed its interest in strengthening the cooperation with the Czech Republic, including obtaining experience from the Czech transformation process and export promotion.
