
Deputy Minister met with the Fellows of Journalistic Programmes Initiated by the MFA and the RFE/RL

First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Petr Drulák met on 10 December, 2014 in the Czernin Palace with young journalists from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Moldova and Russia, that participate in the nine-month programmes Václav Havel Journalism Fellowship and Jiří Dienstbier Journalism Fellowship. The aim of these programmes, that were initiated by the MFA and the Radio Free Europe/ Radio Liberty in 2011 and 2014, is to support young promising journalists from the Eastern Partnership countries, Russia and the Western Balkans.
During the meeting, the problems that journalists face were discussed, as well as the state of freedom of expression and independent media and also quality of journalistic work in the target countries and the Czech Republic.
