Deputy Minister Tlapa in Bangkok

 

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Martin Tlapa, during his tour of Southeast Asia, met with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand Don Pramudwinai in Bangkok on 12 January, 2015.

Deputy Minister Tlapa and his counterpart focused their discussion on possible deepening of economic cooperation. Thailand is the Czech Republic’s main trading partner in Southeast Asia, representing export and investment opportunities for Czech companies. Deputy Minister Tlapa emphasized the Czech Republic’s interest to maintain an active relationship with Thailand from both the bilateral and the EU trade policy perspectives.
Deputy Minister Tlapa also mentioned that the Czech Republic and the EU follow closely the internal political situation in Thailand and expect the Thai government to take specific steps towards completion of the reform process and early restoration of democracy in Thailand.
