Deputy Minister Kaucky at the inauguration of the President of Mozambique

 

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Lukáš Kaucký represented the Czech Republic at the inauguration of the new Mozambican President Filipe Nyusi in the capacity of Special Envoy of President Milos Zeman. The ceremony took place on 15 January 2015 in Maputo.
 

Felipe Nyusi, who was elected in free and democratic elections, graduated in 1990 in mechanical engineering at the University of Defence in Brno, the Czech Republic, where he studied as a beneficiary of scholarship granted by the then Government of Czechoslovakia.

During the audience at the Presidential palace  on January 16, 2015, President Nyusi expressed high interest in scaling up cooperation between Mozambique and the Czech Republic, especially in the areas of industry, infrastructure, agriculture and defence. An expert team led by the Director General of the Mozambican Investment Promotion Centre intends to visit the Czech Republic in the near future in order to identify specific areas of further cooperation.
