Opening Ceremony of the Consulate General in Chengdu

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Lukáš Kaucký participated in the opening ceremony of the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Chengdu, Sichuan Province (the People’s Republic of China), which took place on September 8, 2015.
During his visit, Deputy Minister Kaucký also met with Wei Hong, Governor of Sichuan Province, and Tang Liangzhi, Mayor of Chengdu. They agreed that the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Chengdu would contribute to the development of ties with Sichuan in a number of fields, such as economy, tourism, culture and education. It was underlined that the Czech Republic considers regional cooperation an especially important part of the Czech-Chinese relations. Partnership of Central Bohemian Region with Sichuan Province is a showcase example of colourful and effective cooperation. As part of his official programme, Deputy Minister Kaucký also participated in a business forum focused on strengthening of Czech-Chinese economic cooperation.
