Minister Zaorálek to Visit Indonesia and Myanmar/Burma

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Lubomír Zaorálek will pay an official visit to the Republic of Indonesia and Myanmar/Burma from February 24 to March 1, 2016. The aim of the visit is to evaluate bilateral relations, discuss their further development and exchange views on important international developments and regional cooperation.

Indonesia is one of the most populous countries in the world and is an important trading partner for the Czech Republic in the region of Southeast Asia. During his official visit, Minister Zaorálek will confirm the intentions of the Czech Republic to further deepen cooperation, including the economic and trade ties. At the occasion, Ministers plan to sign the Agreement of Exemption of Visa Requirements for Holders of Diplomatic and Service Passports between the Czech Republic and the Republic of Indonesia.


Myanmar/Burma is one of the priority countries within the Czech transformation policy. The Czech Republic follows the current developments in Myanmar/Burma and there is also a long-standing tradition of Czech contribution to the international support for the Burmese democratic movement. With his partners, Minister Zaorálek will discuss bilateral cooperation as well as humanitarian aid. He will also promote further development of trade and economic cooperation between both countries.

On his official visit to Indonesia and Myanmar/Burma, Chief of Czech diplomacy will be accompanied by a business delegation organized by the Czech Chamber of Commerce.
