Deputy Minister Kaucký in Burkina Faso

 

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Lukáš Kaucký met his counterpart Rita Solange Agneketom Bogoré in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso on April 11, 2016. It was the very first meeting at the level of deputies. Lukáš Kaucký was accompanied by Junior Deputy Minister of Defense Jakub Hodinář and a business delegation from military and defense industries. Main theme of the meeting was security situation in Sub-Saharan Africa and future cooperation mainly in security-related issues.

Deputy Minister Kaucký was then received by President of the Burkina Faso Roch Marc Christian Kaboré. Security issues, fight against terrorism and illegal migration are among main challenges Burkina Faso has to face. President praised activities of the Czech Republic in the region and expressed hopes that the new chapter of wider and deeper cooperation has just been launched. Deputy Minister Kaucký assured President Kaboré that the priority of the Czech Republic is peace, stability and security in Sub-Saharan Africa, because that is essential for further development in African countries, including Burkina Faso.

On April 12, 2016, there will be a meeting of Deputy Minister Kaucký with the Speaker of the National Assembly Salif Diallo. Then the Czech delegation will travel to neighboring Ghana where meetings at the Ministries of Interior and Foreign Affairs are scheduled.
