The meeting is organized as preparation for the Middle East Peace Conference planned in the second half of 2016.

The Paris peace conference should give new dynamics to the Israeli-Palestinian relations and with involvement of international and regional players contribute to the renewal of direct negotiations. The Conference should open new perspectives in the Israeli-Palestinian ties/relations.

The following partners and states were invited to the preparatory meeting: the Quartet (US, Russia, EU HR/VP, UN SG), part of EU Member states, regional partners (Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, League of the Arab States) and other partners (China, Switzerland, Norway, Japan, Indonesia, Senegal, Canada, South Africa).
