Deputy Minister Lukáš Kaucký Received Ms Fu Ying, the Chairwoman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National People's Congress of the People’s Republic of China, in the Czernin Palace on July 15, 2016.

During the meeting, they discussed the opportunities to further strengthen and enhance bilateral cooperation in various fields in the context of the Strategic Partnership between both countries as well as within the platform 16+1 (bilateral interactions of 16 countries of Central, Eastern and South Eastern Europe with China), the Belt and Road initiative and EU-China relations.

The Czech Republic can offer many opportunities to the People’s Republic of China in various spheres, such as trade, investments, health care, environmental protection, civil aviation, new technologies, tourism, culture and education. The Czech Republic also explores possibilities of concrete involvement in the Belt and Road initiative, which will be part of the discussed bilateral plan of cooperation. Deputy Minister Kaucký underlined the interest of the Czech Republic in becoming a regional financial center and transportation and logistics hub.

During the meeting both sides also debated the issue of the Market Economy Status and recently pushlished Award by the Hague Arbitral Tribunal on the South China Sea.
