Both sides agreed on the need to complete the legal framework between the two countries, particularly on the expeditious conclusion of agreements on the protection and promotion of investments and avoidance of double taxation, as well as agreements on economic cooperation. The most promising sectors of cooperation have been identified as energy, food processing, health, agriculture, security and defense. Secretary Hategeka expressed interest in the transfer of technologies and know-how in the above sectors and in the direct cooperation between the chambers of commerce of the Czech Republic and Rwanda. The partners also discussed the specific focus of the economic diplomacy projects, a visit of the Rwandan official delegation accompanied by a business mission to the Czech Republic, and ways to help Rwanda on the OECD platform and in providing access to the EU market.

A similar interest in developing cooperation was mutually expressed during the meeting of the Deputy Minister Tlapa with the State Agriculture Minister Tony Nsanganirou. Agriculture is a key sector for Rwandan economy that employs 70% of the workforce and contributes 33% of GDP and 50% of revenue from exports. Therefore, the country is keen on the foreign assistance to increase the added value of their agricultural products, import-substitution, food processing, the supply of agricultural equipment and a training of agricultural experts. State Minister expressed his readiness to visit the Czech Republic with a sector business delegation and deal with his Czech partners on specific projects.
