Minister of Foreign Affairs attends the Gymnich meeting in Bratislava

Date: 02.09.2016 - 03.09.2016 , Venue: Bratislava

Minister of Foreign Affairs Lubomír Zaorálek will attend the informal meeting of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the EU (Gymnich) in Bratislava on September 2-3, 2016.

The meeting will focus on current foreign policy issues, namely the relations with Turkey, cooperation between the EU and the Candidate countries in the area of counter-terrorism and preventing radicalisation. The debate will also touch upon the Minsk agreements implementation and the EU’s Global Strategy that should, in the upcoming years, help to shape the Union’s foreign and security policy.
Gymnich meeting takes place twice a year and is organized by the EEAS and the EU Presidency. Informal nature of the meeting allows for an open debate on the current international topics as well as for a reflection on the EU’s common foreign and security policy. It is also a traditional informal meeting platform of the EU’s Foreign Ministers with their counterparts from the Candidate Countries.
