Meeting of Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Governors of Czech and Austrian Border Regions

Date: 08.09.2016 , Venue: Chateau Valeč near Třebíč

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Lubomír Zaorálek will have a bilateral meeting with the Federal Minister for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs of Austria  Sebastian Kurz at the Castle Valeč near Třebíč on 8th September 2016 to discuss possibilities of deepening the bilateral cooperation, and the current regional, EU and other international affairs.

Both ministers will afterwards meet for the third time in a unique format with the Governors of the Czech border regions (South Bohemia, South Moravia, Vysočina) and Austrian border federal states (Lower Austria, Upper Austria) and newly also Vienna. The discussions during this meeting will mainly be focused on current EU affairs (development in the EU after the British referendum, migration, security and counter-terrorism) and current topics of the cross-border cooperation, in which both the central and the regional administrations are interested (such as improvement of the transport infrastructure, energy dialogue, cross-border emergency health services, disaster protection, etc.).
